Here are some pictures from the event!
On September 26th, we hosted our Fall Take-A-Date at the local Skate World skating rink. Our social chair, Ashley Fincher, put together the whole event! We had the whole place to ourselves and there were about 50 people in attendance. Everyone wore neon and other bright clothes, had snacks, skated, and re-lived the good part of our junior high days! :p Here are some pictures from the event!

On September 15th, the Phi Xi Chapter initiated two new pledges for the Fall 2015 semester! This Fall, Lorin Mott and Lee Ashlee Fletcher will go through the pledging process to learn about Mu Phi Epsilon's history, values, and goals, and eventually become members themselves! At the end of our Fall 2015 Rush Week, we had our "Formal Interviews" with those who were able to pledge in the Fall. We interviewed 3 candidates: Lorin Mott (Sophomore, Clarinet, Music Education), Lee Ashlee Fletcher (Sophomore, Flute, Music Ed), and John Shaw (Freshman, Bassoon, Music Ed with Dance minor). John Shaw will be pledging in the Spring semester, and will be our chapter's first male member! We are so excited for our new pledge candidates!
Below are a ton of pictures from our Fall Rush events! There is more information on these events in the previous post. If you would like to become a member of Mu Phi Epsilon in the future (Spring 2016, etc), check our Prospective Member Page for more information! This year, our Fall Rush has been given an American theme with the tagline of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Mu Phi". All of our Rush events were themed with American or red, white, and blue things. After our initial interest meeting, we had an American Field Day (where we had a pie eating contest, a three-legged race, etc.), an event devoted to eating patriotic themed desserts (yum!), and balloon painting where we threw red, white, and blue paint-filled balloons at a white backdrop. We had a great turn out at our events and are excited to have met so many wonderful individuals. This was the first year that we had a "rush week" rather than spreading out our events over the semester. Below are pictures from our interest meeting, and the pictures from the other events will be in the following posts! Once again, the Baylor chapters of Mu Phi Epsilon and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia got together to host our annual Welcome Fest where we greet our new School of Music students. It is a time when we all gather togther for some good food, fellowship, and enjoy listening to our wonderful Jazz Ensemble! Different organizations in the Baylor School of Music will also set up tables to talk to new students about what they do and let them know how they can get involved. This was also a special year for the School of Music because we are not only welcoming new students this year, but also a new Dean! Dr. Gary Mortenson has come to Baylor this year after serving for 26 years at Kansas State University. We are very excited to welcome all of these new members of our School of Music family, and we hope everyone has an awesome school year! |
