In January 2015, just after the start of the spring semester, the Phi Xi chapter had the great honor of hosting our District Convention at Baylor University! There were many Mu Phis in attendance from Universities including Texas A&M, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist, Texas Christian University, etc. The convention included an opening address given by our own Phi Xi alum and adviser, Dr. Jean Boyd, and then a whole day of sessions over various topics like rush and recruiting, chapter budgeting tips, good resume writing, and other topics about music professions. In the afternoon, we broke for lunch and games where we got to have fun and mingle with our fellow brothers and sisters from other chapters. We also had a recital after the afternoon sessions. Here are photos from the event!

Rebekah LowerySarah SaenzIn the midst of December's final exams, we came together to celebrate Christmas before going home for the holidays. We had snacks and a Mu Phi Epsilon cookie cake (thanks to our beauxs!), and had a white elephant gift exchange. In the last few days before finals, members of our chapter gathered together for a Christmas Party to celebrate the holidays and end of the semester. We had a white elephant gift exchange, ate snacks (including an epic Mu Phi cookie cake), etc...............
Later in the Fall 2014 semester, the Phi Xi chapter visited the Nursing Home at Providence Park in Waco and performed a casual recital for some of the residents. In addition to playing music, we also spent time visiting with the residents and giving some of them manicures while they relaxed! Here are some photos from our visit. |
