In addition, my kids now know that there are people out there that they don't even know who care about them. That there are people who want them to succeed despite everything they are up against. It is so hard to teach biology to high school students who still have a 2nd or 3rd grade reading level, but these resources are going to help me be more creative. THANK YOU again to the amazing, beautiful people who donated to me :)"
At the beginning of the semester, our chapter participated in Reddit's Gifts for the Teachers gift exchange. Members of the chapter donated different school supplies to a teacher in Arkansas, who would've had to pay for all the necessary school supplies out of her own pocket. Today, we received this message from the teacher who received our gift! "Thank you so much for the AMAZING gift that was sent to me!!! I now have enough paper and pencils to (hopefully) last me the whole year! I'll be giving out the notebooks to my "students of the week" when I see good behavior from them. I'll now be able to do waayy more craft activities with the awesome crayons and colored pencils!
