The Red and Black Family, Plaid Family, Cloud Family, and Purple and Gray Family all took in new littles. In addition, a new hybrid family, Purple and Black, was started by P&G to bring back the former Pink and Black Family.
On March 18th, our pledges finally got to meet their "Bigs", who have been secret throughout the whole pledging process. This is a fun time for our chapter, as we invite alumni to come back to Baylor to join in the fun of welcoming these new "littles" into their Mu Phi Family. Each little was given their family shirt and a gift basket full of fun things, including family heirlooms, t-shirts, and MPE- themed crafts! The Red and Black Family, Plaid Family, Cloud Family, and Purple and Gray Family all took in new littles. In addition, a new hybrid family, Purple and Black, was started by P&G to bring back the former Pink and Black Family.

On Saturday, March 19th, our chapter hosted our bi-annual "Take-A-Date" at Waco's Cameron Park Zoo. The event was put together by our Social Chair, Lee Ashlee Fletcher. We had many people come, and everyone had a great time seeing all the animals (and feeding some giraffes!), and spending time with eachother. On March 15th, the Phi Xi Chapter visited a local nursing home (St. Catherine Center at Providence Park in Waco) to perform a small recital for the residents. This was a great opportunity to share our love of music with others in the community!
Tonight, the Phi Xi Chapter initiated NINE new pledges for candidacy for membership into Mu Phi Epsilon, and we are very excited! We're excited to announce that we had a very successful Spring Rush, where we met lots of wonderful people! We had several different events including a Scavenger Hunt, Casino Night, and a "Late Thanksgiving" event (all in a Friends theme). We are now looking forward to welcoming new pledges for candidacy for membership in the Phi Xi Chapter!
Welcome Back to School! As today marks the beginning of the Spring 2016 semester at Baylor University, the members of Mu Phi Epsilon want to wish everyone the best of luck today and for the rest of this semester! We also would like to invite you to come to our Spring Interest Meeting on January 19th at 7:30 pm in McCrary 114. At this meeting you will get to meet all of us, learn about our fraternity and our chapter specifically, and of course, all you need to know about Rush! Our Rush will have a "Friends" theme (TV show) this semester, and we have a lot of great events planned for you. ** For more information about Rush and/or becoming a member, go to our Prospective Member tab and the sub tabs below! This December, one of our members, Allison Jayroe, will be graduating with her Bachelor's of Music Education (Instrumental) degree after completing her student teaching this semester. We want to congratulate our former Phi Xi President on all her hard work and wish the best for her future career as a music educator!
This year, we joined Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia's "Mill's Music Mission" service event. For this event, both fraternities learned various Christmas carols to sing as a group, while some chose to also perform solos and small ensemble pieces to perform in a Christmas program for the residents of St. Elizabeth Place in Waco, Texas. Here are some pictures from the event! |
